Join Totally Netball in the Fight Against Breast Cancer: A Campaign for Awareness

This October, Totally Netball is proud to launch our dedicated campaign to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Now, an organisation at the forefront of research, support, and advocacy in the fight against breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Now Logo

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK, affecting the lives of millions each year. While great strides have been made, there is still a long road ahead to ensure that everyone has access to life-saving treatments, support, and information.

Why We’re Taking Action

Breast cancer impacts not only those diagnosed but also their families, friends, and communities. By raising awareness, we aim to encourage early detection and emphasize the importance of research to find new treatments.

In the UK alone, 1 woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes. However, research and early detection can drastically improve survival rates. Through this campaign, we want to show our support to everyone fighting this disease and raise critical funds to help Breast Cancer Now continue their incredible work.

Get Involved – Let’s Make Every Game Count!

At Totally Netball, we believe in the power of sport to bring communities together, and what better way to rally support than through friendly competition? We are hosting a number of opportunities, where players will have the chance to not only play the sport they love but also contribute to a greater cause. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, your involvement makes a huge difference!

Upcoming Opportunities Include:

  1. #PlayInPink

    1. Each of our leagues, for 1 week in the month of October, will all dress up in Pink to raise as much awareness and funds for this amazing charity.

  2. Get The Look

    1. We have launched a "Breast Cancer Now" shop, where you can find dresses, hoodies, beanies, and much more.

    2. Best Dressed individuals will have the chance to win some amazing raffle prizes, kindly sponsored by our amazing partners, Gilt Edged

  3. Shooting Competition

    1. Most leagues have a week, in October, where they have Variety matches; this is when the competition will take place. For those without variety matches, we will designate a week for teams to compete.

    2. 1 team - 1 minute - most goals wins

  4. Just Giving Page

    1. We have set up a just giving page for donations till the end of October

All proceeds from these events will go directly to Breast Cancer Now, funding their vital research projects and support services.

How can you make an impact?

There are many ways you can join our fight against breast cancer, whether you’re on the court or cheering from the sidelines:

  1. Donate: Every donation, large or small, helps fund critical research and services. You can contribute directly on our fundraising page - Totally Netball is fundraising for Breast Cancer Now (justgiving.com)

  2. Spread the Word: Share our campaign on social media, tell your friends, family, and colleagues, and encourage them to get involved. Awareness is the first step in making a difference!

  3. Participate in Events: Whether you're a player or a supporter, attending our events is a fun and active way to help. All proceeds will support Breast Cancer Now.

Our Fundraising Goal

This year, we are aiming to raise a small amount of £1,000 but given how amazing our TN family is, we know we can raise a lot more. These funds will go toward vital research aimed at improving breast cancer detection, treatment, and survival rates. Your contributions could help ensure that more people have access to early diagnosis and life-saving treatments.

Stories That Inspire Us

This campaign is about more than raising money—it’s about sharing stories of strength, resilience, and hope. Throughout October, we’ll be sharing stories from breast cancer survivors, healthcare professionals, and those currently fighting the disease. If you have a personal story or message of support that you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you. These stories are what inspire us to keep fighting and bring hope to others.
